Gearing A Mage - How Specs Are Effected By Set Bonus Tier 7, Tier 8, Tier 9
Written by wowconfidential.

(Written by Karch) (Write for us!)
Back before the last patch, when all we had to run were Naxx, Maly, and OS, gearing questions for mages were a lot simpler. Regardless of spec, the Tier-7 4-piece set bonus was powerful enough to overcome any minor stat differences between tier gear and non-tier gear. Basically, every raiding mage aimed to have four pieces of the tier 7 set, leaving room for one “off-set” piece. And given the relative ease of that content, most raiding mages achieved it.
But those days are long gone now. Not only has the much more challenging Ulduar brought Tier-8 gear (and a pair of new set bonuses), but Tier 9 is on the very near horizon. Read more

Which Daily Makes The Most Gold An Hour - Grizzly Hills
Written by wowconfidential.
While there are a lot of ways to make gold in World of Warcraft, a lot of players rely in dailies to bring in gold every day.
The gold return may be modest compared to playing the auction house or my highest earner; using Luke’s guide, but it provides a fun circuit to do everyday with some possible pvp action and if you have yet hit 80 it provides experience and reputation.
The first zone we will take a look at it Grizzly Hills.
We start in the north at Blue Sky Logging Grounds: Read more

Video Series - How I Profit Using Auctioneer - Day 3
Written by wowconfidential.
I want to start something new, I have been using auctioneer for a long time as one of my main sources of income. It is great because I can just spend 15 minutes before I start playing to scan the auction house for deals and then get right to playing.
I am now going to start documenting my strategy and showing you which items I buy and sell to make a profit. This will show you what types of items make the most profit and how well wheeling and dealing on the AH actually does compared to other ways of making gold.
This is by far one of my best ways of making gold, but my highest earner is using Luke’s Guide.

How Much Hit Rating Mages Need - Increasing Mage DPS
Written by wowconfidential.

How Much Hit Rating Should You Stack? (Written by Karch) (Write for us!)
One of the trickiest things for new raiders to understand is just how much hit rating to run with. While not a “sexy” stat like, say, critical strike or haste rating are, hit rating has a huge impact on your raid DPS.
The reasons for this are very much apparent, but this article isn’t about WHY your hit rating is important, it’s about HOW MUCH hit rating you should have. Keep in mind that we are only concerned with raid bosses here, because this blog is about raiding.
Basically, if you’re a mage who’s just getting into raiding, and you’re trying to decide between the fancy spellweave set or the less-fancy ebonweave set, then hopefully you’ll find this helpful. Read more

Gearing a Mage for PvE Without Dungeons
Written by wowconfidential.

I have a Death Knight alt (doesn’t everyone?) that I’ve been working on gearing up, and I’ve been surprised how easy it was to get an initial set of gear. My Death Knight is a tank, and within 3 hours of hitting 80 I was defense-capped with over 26k unbuffed HP without ever setting foot in a dungeon. These stats aren’t great, of course - but they are perfectly passable to start doing heroics and maybe even 10-man raids.
So, if a death knight can do it, a mage can too, right? Below is a list of items that mages who just hit 80 or who haven’t had good luck with heroics or getting into raids.
Keep in mind that this list includes NO items which comes from dungeons, raids, or emblems of heroism. Read more

Best PvP Addons to Increase your Skill in Arena and BG’s
Written by wowconfidential.

PvP in World of Warcraft is very challenging and has a high learning curve to become better at, especially if you are so used to the PvE elements and just starting out with Battlegrounds or Arena’s.
Fortunately there are a lot of different ways you can increase your skill in PvP, and this article will focus on doing so by utilizing the best add-ons.
Add-ons are a set of tools used to provide you with data and information so that you can make an intelligent split second decision. The reason why some players are more skilled than others is due to the fact that they utilize all their classes abilities at the right times, saving their survivability skills until they are completely necessary and their most offensive damaging or CC abilities when the enemy is most vulnerable. Add-ons are able to show you when this can occur.
Here is a list of the most essential add-ons any PvPer and Arena player should have: Read more

Hunter Leveling Spec 70-80 Beast Mastery Build
Written by wowconfidential.

Hunter’s received some major buffs to their damage and survivability in Wrath of the Lich King, you will also notice that they are now a respected class in all forms of arena play, where that wasn’t the case in BC.
This guide will discuss the most “efficient” way to level a hunter from 70-80, other players may have a more fun or preferred way to play depending on their playstyle but this build will focus on minimizing downtime and killing mobs as fast as possible to complete quests and get you to 80 the fastest.
