Every week I report back my progress to hit the gold cap and provide a recap of my gold making activities, you can see past updates here.
Time for another gold cap update, although I’ve been heavily involved in my DK 10K project learning the in’s and outs of making gold with Jewelcrafting, I have been keeping up with my daily inscription and auction house flipping activities to make gold in the meantime on my journey to hit the gold cap.
….And I can announce that I am over the gold cap! well in worth
I am at a total worth of 221,794g when you take into account the price of all the items in my inventory, guild bank and liquid gold on my characters.
My last gold update was on March 2nd and I had a gold total of 192,256g, so today is March 16 which is 14 days later. 221,794g – 192,256g = 29,538g gained = 2,109g earned a day.
Here are a few exceptions to keep in mind with this figure:
1. I play 4 hours a night, I spend time writing daily on this site which takes an hour and have other things I do during the week.
2. I have been heavily involved in the DK 10K project in which I leveled JC from 1-450 that took up a night. I am also spending a lot of time experimenting and learning Jewelcrafting so I’ve cut back on the amount of glyphs I make a night (from 250 glyphs to 150) which has had an impact on my gold making.
3. The March 2nd figure included the “value” of all the Jewelcrafting powerleveling items I had sitting on my DK waiting to be used up in JC, now that he’s at 450 JC those items are gone and are now no longer contributing to my gold amount although it was a good “investment”. That accounts for around a 4,000g loss in my total.

4. I’ve been using the DK to farm his own gold in order to buy up new recipes, I have been averaging around 500 – 800g an hour by mining and doing some prospecting here and there. The gold tip I shared yesterday on creating jewelcrafting rings and necklaces with green gems to sell to vendor is now a major way I’m making gold to invest into recipes. I have so far spent 2,500g in titanium powder to learn new recipes which I consider an investment.
5. I made a pretty big mistake in the last darkmoon faire, I had created tons of darkmoon cards and left turning them into completed decks to the last day but I ended up having company over and totally forgetting! While the value still contributes to my gold amount total it would be liquid gold instead of worth.
Nobles Decks x 7 = 31,500g
Undeath Decks x 8 = 6,400g
Prism Decks x 4 = 1,752g
Chaos Decks x 4 = 1,400g
Various Nobles Cards x 39 = 19,500g
Converted to Liquid Gold Sales = 60,552g
Items I have Invested for Patch 3.3.3
Items I bought to flip are still being shown as a lower value than I believe they’re worth which is really contributing to a smaller figure. I expect demand to go up specifically for these items once the new patch hits and you’ll all see my liquid gold total shoot through the roof.
Eternal Fire
I bought up 561 eternal fires to flip when Patch 3.3.3 is released. The cooldown on titansteel bars will be removed and this is a major material used in its creation. Auctioneer right now says they’re worth 23g each but I believe they’ll rise in value to at least 30g each = an extra 3,900g
Titanium Bars
I have bought 233 titanium bars to flip at patch time, auctioneer value = 18g each, projected value = 25g each which equals an extra 1,631g
Frozen Orbs
227 frozen orbs are waiting in my bank to be sold. I was able to grab these for 10-12g each and I expect prices to rise to 28g each on patch day. Total auctioneer valuation = 20g which equals an extra 1,816g
In total, if you remove the losses I had from investing into Jewelcrafting to 450 and recipes I should of made an extra 6,500g which would of brought me to 36,038g gained in 14 days which equals 2,500g earned/day.
How I Make My Gold
I usually share exactly how I made that 36,000g but to be honest nothing has really changed in my gold making routine and how I make gold in patch 3.3.3. I would suggest checking out those posts to see exactly how I make my gold if you aren’t familiar with my methods.
I have cut back on the glyph making from 250 glyphs a day to 150 glyphs, this has cut down my daily profits by about 400g/day but I use this extra time gained to experiment with jewelcrafting on my DK which should equal more gold/day in the long run once I have my JC business fully set up.
I flipped a battered hilt in the last week as well, bought for 7.5k and it sold for 10,500g (2,500g profit with AH cut). I bought another one for 8,000g and it is waiting around to be sold as well currently but I’m confident the price won’t drop anytime soon.
Other than that I’ve been making glyphs, vellums, runescrolls, doing the JC green gem shuffle, prospecting cheap ores on the AH using auctioneer prospect search feature, mining adamantite ore for roughly 700g/hour profit.
Stay tuned, I expect the next couple weeks to be very profitable with the release of patch 3.3.3, selling all my darkmoon cards, profit should start rolling in with Jewelcrafting now that I have a couple recipes.

Neat! I’ve been in the process to just get one of my expensive mounts, and this blog is really helping me! Congratulations on your achievement!

.-= anaalius´s last blog ..Inducted into the hall of fame =-.
That’s what I expect from my favourite wow site atm
The picture at the top of the screen showing a net worth for inventory has been something I’ve been looking for to help me manage cash flow. Thank you for having the addons section that pointed me to it so I can check it out without having to ask where to find it.
Also, I agree with the above posters. Its great to get some feedback that the things I’m stockpiling others are as well.
IHATCHUSOOOMUCH! The vendor necklaces and rings only works effectively when no one knows about it. Now i have a competitor!
