Using the Trade Channel can be difficult given the amount of spam constantly scrolling up the screen.
As much irrelevant chatter that happens in the Trade Channel, it is usually the place where you can charge a higher mark up on your items from Buyers looking to get an item crafted quickly, or your cheapest inventory from Sellers who are trying to get rid of items for some quick gold to make a purchase.
The problem is finding a way to easily spot these deals before they get lost in the fast scroll of text.
I’ve been searching for an addon that would highlight text in a certain color, whatever keywords I wanted. I finally found it and it’s called TB_ChatEnhancements.
Download the addon here and enter in whatever Keywords you want to have in a highlighted color
Now whenever these words appear I will see them coloured in red (seen in image #1 at the top) and I will know it is something I should act on, I will usually buy Adder’s Tongue or Icethorn from trade channel, even if they are offering it at a normal price I’ll send them a lowball offer that works 1/10 times. Also I’ve had the occasion where people are looking for Glyphs, I charge 38g but sometimes you’ll see the actual glyph on the AH for 5g and they never bothered to check.

Adding another color to a chatbox already full of colors, seems pretty useless to me.
A better way to do IMHO would be an Addaon that detects thes lines and redirect or copy them to a dedicated chatbox like "bargains" then even if you don't spot the good deal immediately you can come back to it easily
I would actually suggest annother addon called Chatter, it has more functions, and also the hability to highlight whichever words you want.
Other then that, I would also suggest an addon called LFG Forwarder, what it does is basically forward the trade chat to other people that also has this addon. So if there is a guy in a major city that has this addon, and you are doing your dailies or even doing some BG farm for honor, you will be able to read what is going on in trade chat! The down side is that you will actually need people with this addon as well for it to work.

thanks for the tip! I’ll be checking that out. People may be a little nervous of downloading an addon from that site as it isn’t that well known but I’ll run some virus scans to check it out.
