buy and sell patch 3-3-3

Finally patch 3.3.3 is upon us and with it comes a lot of changes to the PvP system, AH interface, Dungeon kick options and of course Economic changes..

Hopefully you have been subscribed to our RSS feed or E-Mail Newsletter (check right sidebar to sign up) previously to be aware of the post detailing how to profit from patch 3.3.3 and alerting everyone of  economic changes and what you should of done 2 weeks ago to buy up items at dirt cheap prices that will inflate in this patch, it is too late right now to act on any of that advice.

However there are things you can do tonight and this week as some unique gold making opportunities will arise.

Frozen Orbs – Fronzo

Everyone will be turning in their hoarded up frozen orbs into Eternal fires and Frost Lotus. The price of frozen orbs will spike and the price of eternal fires and frost lotus will plummet

- Action item: If frozen orbs rise above the cost of either eternal fires or frost lotus I’d sell them without conversion. If they go above 30g I’d think about selling them as well.

- Since everyone will be dumping their frozen orbs into converted items, be aware of those items dipping very low and buying them up! My servers average price of frost lotus is currently 35g and frozen orbs might bring it down to 15g, I’ll buy them at this price point as I expect the price to settle at more like 25g. Same goes for Eternal fire drop in price, if it goes too low this is a buying opportunity. This is the main way I make gold using the lessons that the WoW Schools guide taught me.

- Now that frost lotus are available via frozen orbs I’d expect to see a rise in price of other Northrend herbs, since a lot of people only go out gathering herbs to get frost lotus. This will dry up the supply for scribes so expect higher herb costs.

Honor Dump into Gems

I wrote all about this in a previous post. Summary is that I expect gem prices to plummet for a week with players turning in all their marks of honor, in x10’s and singles, now that they can no longer earn these marks from PvP or buy anything with them anymore. Even though players are still buying honor PvP items and the mounts can be bought with straight honor I expect you’ll get a lot of players that will have money signs in their eyes once they see how much honor they have and how much gold they can get by turning them into gems.

Twestersoe had a good comment to add to this – “With the increase in pvp activities, it will most likely highten the demand for resi, gems. So maybe get a few of the Epic recipes for PvP, or the recipes bought from StoneShards.” –  Price drop of gems might be balanced out by the increase demand from the population spike.

Scand also commented on that post – “Spaming your jc macro in trade will prob generate alot more gold when patch hits aswell.”

Pet Bombling and Lil’Sparky Bind on Equip

pet bombling and lil smoky

For you engineers, hopefully you took the advice to buy up core of earth and hearts of fire so that you can craft these pets which can now be sold on the auction house! This will be a nice steady stream of income as long as a bunch of engineers don’t oversaturate the market.

AH Interface Changes

The auction house will have some updates to it, you can now post in set amount of stacks. Bad part about this is you’ll see a lot more occurances of someone posting x1 auctions in pages on the AH. Also this will cut down on the amount of “resale” deals you find since it will be harder to mess up your price. (People thinking the are posting stacks of 1 of 20 items but really post that whole stack at the 1 price)

Another thing that will be an issue with these changes is their potential to really mess up auction house addons. I will be researching this and reporting back on the blog and problems and fixes I find as soon as possible. My biggest concern lies in Quick auctions 3.

Well here we go! I love patches as they bring a ton of players back into the game and you make your most sales during these next 2 weeks. Be sure to fully stock the auction house with items you can craft at a profit and be ready to set record numbers in sales.

Keep you eyes on the shifts in the market, buy up anything that goes really low and utilize WoW Schools guide as these prices should rebound “a bit” after the initial dump of hoarded frozen orbs and honor goes away and that is where your profit will come from.

My Auctioneer and Auctionator don’t seem to be working anymore. QA, from what I see so far, still works. Some people say their auctioneer still works, others say it works with bugs, yet others say it doesn’t work at all, so I’m not sure what the key to having it still work is.

Edit: reinstalled addons and they seem to be working again.

    Titanium bars are 32-38g/per
Im buying saronite ore at 13.5g/stack smelting and the transmuting with a transmute spec alch.
I’ve sold 45+ Bars in about an hour.

  6. Easternwind says:

Oddly enough, prices rose on my server as people are trying to create an equivocal exchange between frozen orb prices, and eternal prices. Almost every eternal is hovering around 50g, meaning some rose in price by 30-40g.

  7. Impmachine says:

Oddly on my server prices are about the same. Average price of titanium bars went up maybe 2-3g and eternal fire prices fell about 5g or so. Frozen orbs are selling in the 15-20g range.

Hi there. I have been reading your blog for sometime now. I gotta say its pretty good.

You’d just have to wait for the demand to increase. Beginning this weeks. My orbs are selling for 35g each. which is a good deal for me. I bought a lot of orbs at 10g – 15g.

btw what addon are you using for the bags and bank? looks good :D
