milling one second

Yesterday I noticed while I was milling that it was going by a lot faster than normal. I usually watch a clip on youtube or contribute on my usual forums while milling and put WoW in windowed mode in the far right of my screen.

Apparently the time to cast Mill has been reduced from 2 seconds to 1 second! I’m very surprised this change wasn’t documented in any of the patch notes.

This will greatly speed up every aspect of inscription. It usually takes me about 16 minutes to mill 800 azure pigments in my daily inscription activities, this will reduce the time to 8 minutes. Doesn’t sound like a big deal but I’d have to say that milling is probably the most annoying part of inscription and a 50% reduction in time is great news!

I posted this exact question on the forums the other day, and I don’t think any one responded. I have to agree that they should have put it in the notes, as this is a HUGE deal for scribes everywhere.

Yeah, noticed it yesterday. I thought it was a bug exactly because there wasn’t anything about it in the patch notes. But bug or not, I’m very happy about the change :)

Now if only I didn’t have to click “yes” to the Enchantrix prompt when I open my mail I would really be happy.

Ah no wonder! I thought something was different yesterday. I even had some time to PvP yesterday because of the difference. This is the best news Ive heard i a while. =D

What I don’t understand is that I can automate the posting of glyps, I can even automate the bulk creation any given glyph type, but shouldn’t automate the milling of glyphs? Huh? While this change is nice, why shouldn’t I be able to ‘mill 40 tiger lilly’ with one key press? strange.

The reason that you can’t do this is because you’re destroying the 5x{herb} to create pigment. The game requires you a keypress every time that you want to destroy any type of item (same for disenchanting, prospecting, literally destroying an item…)

Actually, any crafting is destroying the source mats.
But you can still craft 40x [Ring of Something] with 1 click.
It’s not destroying, it’s just transforming set of items A to set of items B.
