I am a huge fan of Reddits section called IAMA where people who are interesting in one way or another allow others to ask them questions.
I found one that was recently posted by a man claiming to bot 150 seperate accounts over 15 computers running 24 hours/day. You can read all the entires and questions here.
He also claims to make 150,000 – 200,000g a day on his bots.
I do not condone the use of bots or selling gold but it’s interesting to see how a person can turn fake currency into real life money for a living.

I am a bot scripter for another game called “runescape”, you probably know about it.
All I want to do is to warn you, do not start botting, it will take out the fun of the game for you and all you will do is bot… wait until it reaches high amounts of gold so you can do something fun for an hour or so (play around with your new chopper ? tundra mammoth ?), then you find something else you want, and you bot further.. more and more.
I swear you don’t think it will take out the fun of the game, it did for me in RuneScape, Dofus, Guild Wars… I won’t bot for WoW.
Although it is true you can earn heaps of money from botting, mainly from selling accounts (in runescape, since there is no obligatory monthly fee) and gold, its sad if you get banned.
I don’t like how this article sort of indirectly motivates you to bot.
If you’re going to bot, do it on RuneScape, its easily bottable, and the system they use to find bots, believe me, relies solely on other players reporting you. Make a human like bot, make money.
It is quite easy to make gold from bots and the bots have become so advanced that you wont even see them. I have 8 accounts running on 7 different servers, been farming wintergrasp for ORES ONLY! It takes around 5 hrs to fill up my bags(3x 32 slot mining bags) with saronite / titanium ore, the bot runs back to guildbanks, empties the goods and then goes back to farming. So it is quite easy to make gold with bots, however… you WILL get banned and you WILL lose interest in the normal aspects of the game.

I have been only farming (fishing) WG fishes on large scale. Your toon can only catch 8 stacks of fish per hour (+- 5 fishes). So by the end of my sleep i had all my bags filled up. By this means i controlled the ‘fish feast’-market and fish used to make it . It gained me about 500g/day.
I didn’t try to mass farm ores/herbs because chance the players would report you is much higher then ( i reported myself -_-).
P.S. I started to bot when i got bored of WOW . So a bit of opposite of Dervish_
Have been running my bot for the last few days and just farming… started on a fresh bank alt. After 4 days i have 12.000 gold, so i reckon that is ok.. Could have had a lot more if i had bothered setting up some sort of auctionbot to administer the AH for me.
where could i get this bot KURIOS???
