Buying and Selling on the Auction House can be a very lucrative way to make gold, I show exactly how I do it in this video. Its is my one of my best gold making methods, other than following Lukes Guide.
However, given the nature of the auction house game, you are constantly reinvesting gold into the AH and there comes a point when you have hundreds of auctions happening at the same time, inventory stashed in the bank and bags that you don’t even know how much gold you have if you liquidated everything that day.
What is your characters total worth? That is what the add on Big Picture answers. (download link)
Features
Auctions Totals
Bids Out – Any gold you have tied up in current bids that aren’t won yet.
Auctions Bid – Sums up the current Bid price of all your auctions, assuming they all sold at that bid price
Auctions Buyout – Sums up all your current auctions and gives you their total worth if they all sold at the buyout price.
Inventory Totals
Total Bags – Worth of all the items currently in your bags (You can click Scan Bags) to update this figure.
Total Bank – Worth of all items currently in your bank. Notice I have this turned off as I have items in there I’m not selling currently and don’t want as part of my total.
Base Wealth – The amount of actual gold on your character
Character Total – Everything added together.
Troubleshooting
Figure seems to be WAY too high
Big Picture draws its worth of inventory from the Market Value of items taken from your auctioneer data. If your auctioneer data is too new it may have skewed numbers.
The other case is that some people try to mess up auctioneers scan data by purposely posting worthless items on the AH but greatly inflating their prices constantly so that auctioneer thinks that is the true value of the item:

We know that Tough Jerky is worthless, you can buy them from vendors at 20c for a stack of 5, but auctioneer thinks its worth 38g for a stack of 4.
A way around this is to get rid of these junk items from your inventory, there is also a “filters” section in the “Configuration” menu of Auctioneer.
This is also a very great tool to see how much your character worth goes up day by day.
How much is your Big Picture total?

That’s a nice addon. What I would like however is one which simply tracks your daily total gold and plots a graph of it. Simple but so far I haven’t come across something like this. I’m forced to log my gold in an Excel spreadsheet.
hello i wonder how to install it
i got curse client and wowmatrix programs to install addons so how do i get this addon work cuz
?big thx
All addons are located in your “program files/world of warcraft/interface/add ons” folder, download big picture and put that file into the add ons directory and everything should work from there. Make sure it is enabled from your character select screen (just like all your other addons) it may not be because it will say “out of date”
but how do i download big picture addon?
ok cool thx dude
Been looking everywhere for addon but cant find the download page. Allready have AH advanced. Where can i find the download??
I just updated the download link in the article..it’s at http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info10924-Auc-Util-BigPicture.html
its out of date is standing in my Addons in WOW
how can i use it then ( i already have Auctioneer)
I love this addon, but i do also love Auctionator and Auctioneer, but it wont work together, the buy is in beancounter which really sux… anyone know what to do?
I get this problem too, you have too many tabs now on your AH interface.
On quick fix is to just disable auctionator when you are checking out big picture, and then after you check your numbers log off and disable big picture and auctionator/auctioneer will work for you.
I saw your vids on youtube and was wondering what are good items to buy? Also i don’t see the confidence thing you were talkin about anywhere with auctioneer :X
and i tried to search+scan at the same time but it didnt work
