Calculators are used in every aspect of making gold, anywhere from calculating your gold/hour rate at a farming spot to pricing out profit margins based on your cost of supplies and sale price.
I have used the default windows calculator for all my needs, and although I play in windowed mode it still can be quite annoying to have my screen covered up and not being able to view the calculator if I click back into WoW or press hotkeys as your windows focus has changed.
There is an in-game addon you can install for world of warcraft that allows you to use this simple calculator without having to alt-tab or use the windows default one. They also made the calculator so that when it’s active your num-pad is bound to the keys then switched back to your normal bindings after (but who uses their numpad for bindings??)
Another great feature is you can input calculations by typing in the chat box /calc 2 + 2 and it’ll return 4 or you can do something like /calc (3.5g +50s) * 2 which will return 8g
The calculator is called Xcalc and you can download it over here at curse.

there are 15 good, easy to use (and memorize, come on, everyone knows 10key these days) hot keys on your keyboard, and the game does not use them…. change walk / run from the num lock key and you find you have more room for spells and abilities.
Sounds like a pretty decent addon. especially if you play in full screen mode.
LOVE IT! Been wondering if there was an addon like this out there – I too am a dedicated Windows calculator user. Thanks!
I prefer simplecalc.
I prefer multiple displays
Mainscreen: wow in fullscreen windowed mode w\out borders
secondary screen: OpenOffice, calculator, …
It’s really worth it!
I use WOW only in “windowed” mode . Btw i higly reccomend to get a good caclulator. I currently have ‘texas Insturements’’s one but is a very good choise, becoause i can track previous functions/calculations which is a great help if you want for example to find out the price of nobles deck.
Or you can just use /dump
I.E.
/dump 1+1 (WoW will answer 2).. /dump 1+1 /dump 1*1 /dump 1/1 they all work. This addon is probably using /dump to do its math in-game.
